Having just received my new upgrade of TTN5 from TomTom, the setup programs allow for install of two sets of maps - the normal single country, and the plus maps, which include major roads of europe as well as the country. I don't know whether I'm preaching to the converted, but the plus maps are a whole generation later, and definately include roads not found in the non-plus maps! Smile

That's interesting. I only installed the basic GB map, and and loaded the Iberia plus map as I wanted Portugal.
I must try the GB plus map and see if some of the new errors I have found in TT5 (which crept in since TT3) are there in the plus version also

Rather disappointing, I'm afraid. I unistalled the GB map and loaded the GB plus. Unfortunately the new map errors, which were not there in TT3, are still there in the GB plus version of TT5

Ah well - can't win them all - I know the French plus map contains a new road from Boulogne harbour to the motorway!

Is this confirmed then that there are 2 completely different maps for the UK on the cd depending on if you install the non plus or the plus version? That would seem extremely strange wouldnt it? I havent really been anywhere with mine yet, but Ill load the plus maps in just to be sure I think.

I would really like the option to avoid areas to be put back in:!: I could get around most of the map errors that affect me with this. It was also great to be able to avoid busy areas.

There is definitely more than one version of maps on the CD's. Most of the standard maps are version 562 and at least one, Benelux, is version 566. However it seems that all of the Plus maps are version 571.

These version 571 maps are more up to date, the French Plus map has the Millau Viaduct which was completed only this year.

On the other hand my local town bypass is now shown on all the maps, but as a dead end, it was named Millenium Way, and guess when it was built? So, five years to put a bypass on the maps and show it as a dead end!
