I am unable to navigate to certain POI like petrol stations, cash machines, etc. The program just hangs and then closes. I'm using an MDA Compact and Navigator 5.
Does anybody know if they have a similar problem? If so, how did you solve it?
Thanks in advance! Sad

- There is a problem with searching for POIs on the GB map. Using any of the functions below to find a point of interest will result in an error: Navigate to Point of interest , to POI in city, Browse Map, Cursor position,Find nearby POI .The error is either "No POI found" or TTN5 crashes to the Today Screen.

Using the TTN3 poi.dat file seems to help but the best thing is to report this as a bug to TomTom. The more people that report this the better.

As a further thought - this is not only on the GB map but the same problem exists on all of the various country maps supplied with TTN5.

Apparently, after reading some of the Dutch forums, the problem first appeared with the 4.40 release, whatever that was?

Could you provide further details such as operating system, make, type, size and speed of memory card.

I have an rz1710 and have never seen this problem with both TT4.40 or with TT5.

I'm using MDA Compact running Windows Mobile Second Edition, Processor : Intel Bulverde 416MHz, ROM : 64MB, RAM : 64MB SDRAM.
The memory card I'm using is a Play.com 512MB SD Card made by Toshiba. Sorry but I don't know what speed the card is. My guess is that it's a normal speed one.

Thanks for the reply rmsa786.

My PDA details:
Loox 420, 400 MHz running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.
Memory card is an Integral 1GB 66x SD card.

I was trying to determine if common hardware was the cause of the incompatibility.

The only one that seems to be emerging is that with WM2003 the error causes a "No POI found" message and in WM2003SE, a crash.

However, there are sufficient people having this problem on different setups to show that there is a compatibility problem that needs fixing.

So I guess I have to put up with it until then?
Probably just uninstall it coz it seems very unstable on a brand new machine which is not acceptable and they claim it's compatible with the handset???!!!

I am still using it since having disabled the POI's it now rock solid and I can live without the POI's until, hopefully, it's fixed.
Many more pros than cons with respect to TTN3.
