Well that's odd! Five Ipaq 4700's - four work one doesn't!

Ther must be a difference somewhere, if you could all post details of your PDA rom and make and type of card it might help identify the problem.

Wilko - HX4700, rom 1.10, 512MB Kingston Elite Pro SD card - Works.

SimonCatlin - HX4700 Could you please post details of rom etc - Works.

Sooty - HX4700 Could you please post details of rom etc - Not working.

AlanK - HX4700 Could you please post details of rom etc - Working.

cracou111 - HX4700 Could you please post details of rom etc - Working.

Hx 4700, rom 1.0, innovate secure SD card, TTN5, old wired GPS (but not connected at present as not in car). In map view can select cursor positions -> find nearby POI -> Petrol Station to see a list of nearby garrages and view one on thew map OK.

Finally I seem to have it sorted!

Sequence of events.

Hard reset Ipaq
Remove all memory cards from Ipaq
Install TTN5 from CD via Activesync to default location
Install GB map & postcodes from CD to CF card via card reader
Move the 'tomtom' and 'itn' folder from root of PPC to root of CF card
Soft reset Ipaq
Start TTN & configure / activate etc
HEY PRESTO it now works a treat and I can find nearby and navigate to all the POI's

The only things I have done differently this time, is hard reset prior to install and install maps directly to CF card rather than to PC and then copy to card.

Strange!

Mines is 1.1 rom and installation of SD Card automatic. I dont have a CD - anyone tell me how to install this to another SD Card (like what I have to copy over?)

Bigger problem at the moment the thing either turns off and automatically resets when you turn it back on or just freezes when I exit TomTom and needs a manual reset Sad

This sucks and I cant even go back to v3 as I dont have it anymore

AlanK

I'm not sure if TomTom somehow lock the software to the original SD card, I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong but it should just be a case of copying the entire contents of your original SD card to a new one.

Forgot to mention on last post.

If you have another SD card, then I suppose there will be no harm in trying it. If it is locked to original card just go back to that card.

Hi Sooty

Is it now installed to a CF card or an SD card?

You mentioned previously a Lexar 80x 1GB Professional, is it installed to that or is that an SD card?

If not, would you be able to install to that card using the installation as you have described.

Roger (still no POI's)
