info at roundabouts

I'm surprised no-one else has brought this up cos it's been bugging me for ages:

When approaching roundabouts, the 'next turn' at the top of screen tells you which exit to take followed by a road name/number. Why oh why does the road name not always match that of the road you are exiting to but instead is the name of the road you are currently travelling on?It changes to the correct road name while you are IN the roundabout but by that time it's often too late and with complex junctions this can become a real pain.

Eg, travelling on the A331 about to exit onto the M3, the unit says 'THIRD EXIT/A331' and then says 'EXIT LEFT M3' when on the roundabout. Surely it should say 'THIRD EXIT/M3' when approaching the roundabout so you feel more sure about what you're doing.

Granted, I have found just following the graphics and driving where the arrow tells me to is normally right, but one can't always be looking at that when you are driving!

yes simon, i too have noticed this and it can be a pain, especially on a large roundabout where you haven't counted the exits when going round
