Help with TomTom 5 upgrade

I brought TT Mobile online last July (brand new) complete with code etc.

We have spent the last few weeks looking wherever we can think of for the card with the code on it. The only thing we can think of is that it was stolen when we were burgled in November (They took a metal box with all our paperwork in it, but we didn't give the code a thought).

I have tried to go through Tomtom but they will only give me another code if I can show them proof of purchase (which was stolen with the code card). I have tried the company I brought it from but they are no longer trading (not under the same name anyway). I have offered TT a copy of my credit card bill but they say it is detailed enough and doesn't prove what I brought. Offering them the police crime number didnt work either!

Has anyone got any ideas as I cant afford to pay £180+ for TTM 5 when all I just need the £60 upgrade. I also have a very long driving holiday coming up so I dont really want to wait till TTM 5 comes out in the full version.

PS Make sure you all have a copy of your code seperate from the card or you may end up where I am.

if you have got the original memory card they suplied with the software, perhaps that would be proof enough?

I have even offered to send them the card. I gave them a list of options to choose from and they have said no to all of them.

Do you have the receipt or an email from the people you bought it from?

I have nothing apart from the MMC card, manual and the box (GPS was stolen from my car). Looks like I will have to stick with V4 !!!!!
