OK - just did not use my Ipaq PPC for 3 weeks and then found it completely dead. Why o why should this happen? I suppose I did have a better backup than last time it happened - but still I lost various bits done recently.

Did you let the battery go flat?

There is no long term backup battery in an iPaq so flat battery = hard reset = no data. If you know the iPaq is going to remain unused for a period then it needs to be charged regularly - even if it's just sitting in a draw.

Yes - a very very flat battery - an a very very empty Ipaq Sad Ironically this followed a spell where I was getting much more confident in what I could do with GPS - trying out different progs etc. - now kick in the teeth - 2 steps forward 4 steps back.
So must remember to keep PPC on charge ALL the time.

Or you could buy Sprite Backup Premium Edition and kiss all your troubles goodbye as you can confgure it to backup at a preset time each day! So no excuse for being forgetful :o Smile

What I forgot to add to my previous post was ..It will also perform a backup at a pre determined level of battery discharge (when used in conjunction with battery monitoring)..

You make that sound very good oddstock
Can it backup everything to the Storage card and recover it from there as well when recharged? In other words can it recover without the PC? The async backup seems to be about 6Mb
