Just one drop of water from my hair dropped onto the screen of my Medion, somehow it quickly found its way underneath where it is now locked in, the electronics are fine but the screen is unresponsive and I cannot get past my password input - any advice? Sad

I had the same thing happen with my ipaq 2210 it took several days to dry out keeping it warm in the airing cupboard Smile Phew what a relief it was when it started to work ok

Same thing happened to me with my ancient Toshiba E740 - I shouldn't really have gone war-walking round the estate in the rain, of course !

I removed the main battery (to get a better airflow through the unit) and left it propped up in the airing cupboard, keeping it away from any pipework.

I tried the battery in after 2 days - still no response, then daily until (finally !), it responded to the touchscreen after about 7 days.

The reserve battery was completely flat by then, so I had to restore my backup image.

I can still see a strange mottled discolouration behind the touchscreen if I get the angle just right - but at least it works again now !

I managed to drop my colour screen mobile phone into the washing up bowl, of course it was full of water, took battery out, dried phone and battery as well as I could, then left it on top of radiator for a couple of days before it would work again, there is a slight discolouration on the screen but all works ok.

Don't try to speed up the drying operation, using a airing cupboard is the best solution, just warm and it could take several days, I would leave it before trying again for at least 2 days, a real pain I know, but if it may save the unit then its worth the wait.

Thanks for all your advice guys, its just about to go into the airing cupboard then fingers crossed..

Nice to know I'm not the only one out there!

Though you would think the screen would be able to take more than a drop of water....
