Hi, I was just wondering if someone could more or less tell me if the Dell Axim X50 will be compatible with the new Tomtom navigator 5 when it comes out. The reason I ask is because I went to tomtoms website and they had a list of compatible models - the Dell axim x30 was listed, but the x50 was not. Also, the HP ipaq 4700 was in the list. This is puzzling why the x50 was not listed, as operating system wise and screen resolution wise both the ipaq 4700 and the x50 are the same. So do you think they just didn't get round to including it just yet, and TT5 should be compatible? I ask because I just ordered an x50, and will be quite upset if TT5 is indeed not compatible!

I asked this question a while ago (to TomTom) and their reply was along the lines of "The connector on the X50 is different, and at the moment there is no car kit available for the X50". There was no mention of non compatibility, just that they couldn't supply a car kit.

Why not ask them? You have to register on the website to send an E mail, but they answered mine very qiuckly.

Hi,

I also asked this question to Tom Tom and they have agreed that the x50 is compatible with TTN5. however as others have said they will not offer a mount for it yet as the connector has changed, but i recommend the seidio G2500 mount for the x50...on ebay for around £45.

Further to the replies regarding a car mount, I have an Axim X50 and have bought an ARKON CM597 powered mount and it's GREAT! It cost me £29 on eBay so you don't need to spend a fortune.

As far as I'm aware the TT5 will operate in the same environment as the TT3 therefore it should work with the X50 (I certainly hope so as I am going to update when available)!
