Woke up this morning to find the car had been broken into and the Tomtom Mobile GPS receiver stolen. Yes, bad on me for not taking it out of the car, but it was placed stealthily on the back parcel shelf.
It seems like the original GPS device can't be bought independantly of the software, and some others have compatibility problems?
Can anyone recommend a compatible bluetooth based alternative? |

...and this is a legitimate situation, I haven't downloaded TTM5 from P2P or anything like that, so this is a genuine call for help! |

Not sure about a 6600, i have a spv c500 using my Globalsat BT-318 receiver, that i bought for my PDA running TT3, i have not had any problems with the BT-318, the reason i use the BT-318 for both devices is the battery life, 15hrs continous use according to Globalsat, i have achieved 17 - 18 hrs use off and on, on a single charge, as long as you have got the traffic patch installed, it should pair and receive data, i do not see why not. |

Put a post in the WANTED section and a guy has responded, so I can get a genuine one which is what I really wanted. This time I am going to get an external antenna so I can hide the receiver in the boot and just have the antenna poking out somewhere.
The car I have has a permanently powered 12v socket in the boot which is extremely handy, and the receiver just grabs some juice when it needs it. Works really well, almost like a wired in system. |

Ah, you have to love the timing. Wonder if the seller would be willing to divulge the serial number for comparison with the one that was lifted from my car. |
