Yes must agree you can get Kingston SDHC Memory Cards - Class 4 or 6 for as little as £7.99. Class 4 reads @ 4MB/sec, class 6 @ 6MB/sec.

The simplest way is to copy your system files to your external card also, that way your TT will boot from the card and not from the unit.

Europe 31 just means the TT is loaded with a Western & Central europe map covering 31 countries. The map gives no other features than you already have on your XL, so its purely a map upgrade

Do you know someone with a sony ericsson you can try, almost the entire range are compatible with TT. If it works, there is your answer.

In short, get a fast (x130) memory card big enough to support both system files and maps all on one.
A TT always reads from external memory first, so it will boot from the card.

I found positioning the antenna was critical, I set mine to get as much vertical as possible, it found a station and locked on in less than a minute.
