I nearly always use Google maps on Apple Carplay as my VW sat nav is cr@p, and since Apple allowed other apps to run in the background I run CA on my phone at the same time.

Just to let you know, I’ve only been using the iPhone XR for a few weeks, but it was working just the same on my previous iPhone SE.

My location services is also set to ‘Always’ for CamerAlert. Can’t see why this would make any difference really, but as it’s working well I’ll leave it like that.
