Spoke to Garmin yesterday, cleared a few things up for me.
They said there is limited space on the unit for POI's so its just a case of loading them on gradually until the memory's full.

Managed to find this post after my original post.
I managed to put the POI's onto the SD card but the unit still doesnt seem to recognise them, for instance I type in Aldi on the device but it doesnt ... |

I've managed to download and install the speed cam files ok, still no luck with the other POI's.
