How often are map updates released?

My response from tomtom was that this offer was only open to Go700 Users.

I found that if I used the backup feature on the TomTom CD, it didn't do a complete backup.

So I had to do one manually, burn it to CD and put it back in the tomtom box.

Can anyone tell me what the latest version of the Navman maps and Software is? My mate wants to check how up to date his iCN520 is.
