The N810 is based on a Linux operating system and has the capability to connect to WiFi networks as well as the cellular network.
I don't think it is a cell phone only Skype via wifi.

Yes it does run trouble free reroutes much faster than my ipaq.
The caps issue is not a problem to me as all I want is easy navigation.

In my experience a lot of this type of problem is because of the memory card. The one I use at the moment has tape around it so that it doesnt lock.
