Hi, I recently bought a One XL2, i know the user options are very much limited on this model but one option i miss in particular on my 'old' tomtom that is not offered on my xl was the option to 'dim ...

If you buy a new one then sell the broken unit on ebay. They seem to get some money for even faulty units.

Cheers, but i'll probably keep it as i might come across a screen on ebay one day.

Having read the threads that seem to suggest Navteq map ...

Is it known yet which maps are on the XL, Europe?..........The recent TT One 'europe' apparently used Navteq whilst the TT1 'regional' version used Teleatlas...Will the same difference apply to the ne ...

The Garmin device will also store the most recent destinations making them available for subsequent re-use, it takes one more tap of the screen than the TomTom:
Where to?/ My Locations/ Recent Select ...

Can you define 'stores my previous journeys' more clearly? The XL, like other TomToms, can store itineraries, but you have to create them first and then save them.

The x10 range could all use TTS, ...

Ahhhhhh, but can the other unit do those things?
I don't know!
