I think it was athermic heat reflecting windshield problem (which blocks GPS signals), since you said that you were using a Renault. Check NAVMAN suport FAQ you will see that Renaults 2001 onward ... |

- 3420 SIRF Star 2e chipset, More sensitive than 3400
- 3450 SIRF Star 2e/LP (Low Power=More standalone battery time) plus external antenna input. |

3420 should be cheaper, but you can find some deals on 3450s. For ex at Amazon, 3450 is anounced at $260. Also remember the ext antenna input on 3450, which might be handy in some car ... |
