Yes you can plan a route without a gps signal. You cannot save any routes and recall them later (with or without a signal).

From the main menu (press menu on the map screen):
Choose "where to?"

Has anyone managed to get their I-pod connected to the TT910? It says connect the I-pod up to continue but when I do this it does nothing seems to happen.
