Can you view the actual card from Windows Explorer as a drive letter, then right click on it and select Format - this will wipe the card and should then allow your back-up on to the card - Mike

That would appear correct for a TomTom Go-510, are you 100% sure you bought a 710 or did you just read the 710 number from the underside of the device?
