I had a similar problem with a new N70.
Turns out the card is not recognised until the little door/flap is closed.
Pretty basic really.

I don't think the gps should be paired with the phone.

If your gps appears in the bluetooth devices list, delete it.

Just turn on Tom Tom and let it pair with the gps receiver automatically.

I too have a Holux 236 gps receiver.

Fantastic device, well worth the money.

I have Tom Tom Mobile v5.200 (540).

You do not appear to have a set of customised voices for this yet.

Can I use one of the others?

I had the same on my A1000 and my son on his N70.

On both occasions, the only answer I could find was to re-copy the map folder over the existing one on the memery card.

This over writes the exi ...

This probably won't help you but I have a Holux 236 working with Route 66 on an A1000.

No problems.
