OK solved. it was a waypoint that device did not like! the new road that this waypoint is on which is on both updated maps on device and PC... it just refused to route to this is what caused the confu ...

No hard and fast rule on max distance as it depends on other factors like complexity of route.

A 300 mile trip is a big ask. I'd try to split it into two.

even though in the App im calculating between two points in say germany, I think its failing because its calculation is from here in Lon ...

maybe I should ask how many miles does route need to be limited to in the App plse?
