I think technically V3 rather than V2

Yup - tomtom home calls my device a "onev3" (in the configuration info dialog).

Not very, as it will not prevent the TT being stolen, unlike, for example NOT LEAVING THE BLOODY THING ON VIEW IN THE CAR which is where most get nicked from.
