i have noticed a very strange thing yet again with the 3400 SP1a

the gps signal always used to average about 9 sats but now i'm only getting 5 sats on exactly the same roads in the same w ...

if you press and hold the power button this will turn off the backlight on the ipaq which will help your screen last much longer, as far as i'm aware the only long term damage ...

a friend of mine has the same setup as you.
upgrade the rom to pocket pc 2002 version 2.14 and it should work fine but dont go any higher as it didnt work for s ...

i'd like to add that you get better and quicker fixes on the 206mhz models than the 400mhz, dont know why but you just do maybe something to do with less interference from the slower cpu

hi dave,

i was getting that problem with the first release of SP1.
i thought i was getting it with the SP1a but i waited about 20 seconds and it started to count up, but it counts up every 4 ...
