I think this must be a know problem as I submitted a query on TomTom's web page and they sent a new one (arrived yesterday). At least that way you get to keep the original as a spare!

Looks like that's the answer. There is a definite delay between booting up TomTom and getting a fix, even when te Mio has been switched on for ten minutes.

Hi,

Have you thought about getting a card reader for your PC so that you can download directly to the SD card? Instead of three hours, you would be looking at a couple of minutes or so.

I bought one some nine months ago - no regrets at all. Works a dream in the car (even with heated windscreen) and is also great for going on-foot.

I'm pretty certain that they don't - certainly my version has no voice commands.
