You dont need power if you go for a bluetooth setup as both the iPAQ and GPS have batteries. Power is generally better for in-car use however as running the iPAQ with the backlight on is tough on batt ...

I've just received my Trine and in the same position. Has anyone worked what to do with the BIN file?

There are a few 6600 apps that allow you to scan and calibrate your own paper maps. They're not very easy to use but may fit the bill.

After doing my research I'm looking at a "HP iPAQ 4150" as its quite cheap (£295 from totalpda)
