I'd suggest the Nav-Cam that Makro are currently selling for £199.

It has camera alerts, and the GPS fix is almost instant everytime.

The Evesham unit at Makro does support full 7 digit post code search.

And don't forget those speed camera alerts integrated!

If you go to www.lowestonweb.com/destinator you can download a PC application that installs the camera updates straight onto your BM6300.

There is also a pdf on the site that walks you through doin ...

How about the BM6380 from Evesham.

Looks great, NavTeq map data and speed camera alerts.

£299.99 from Evesham, or £199.99 ex VAT from Makro at the moment.

Makro are selling the BM6380 for £199 ex VAT from 9th Nov.

Don't think you'll get a better product for anywhere near the price.

Exactly what I was going to say.

The two products they slated, NavMan and TT Go both run outdated TeleAtlas maps which are probably to blame.

Still means the products are poor though, as they ru ...

I'd recommend the BM6300 from Evesham (www.lowestonweb.com). It has all of the features of the RAN, but costs just £299.99!!!!

It is a dedicated sat-nav system with integrated speed camera alerts. ...

Hi David.

GPS devices can often take a while (up to 20 mins!) to get their first ever GPS fix.

I assume that the device has a direct view of the sky? (i.e you're not using it indoors?

This should do the trick.

It'll fit into the connector on the back of your BlueMedia, and it'll stick on the roof of your car (magne ...

This one would probably work, as the Navman 510 is based on the same hardware as the BlueMedia (Mio 138).

First question - you are trying to get the signal while outside, not from inside your house or anything?? The unit needs a direct view of the sky in order to get a satellite fix.

If so, the only th ...

No Bluetooth, but my dad has the BMW 7 series with the heat reflective windscreen, and it still gets signal through that.

I'd say go for it.

The manual and set-up guide has been improved a lot, and the camera database is bang up to date. Both are available from www.lowestonweb.com/destinator
