Used your settings as described for vodafone PAYG and Sony/ericson 750i
One small typo error is
Dial 299***1# should read Dial *99***1#
All is working perfectly now

Have you tried setting it up manually?
I had similar situation but with K700i and Vodafone, where I could connect to internet etc but not via bluetooth through Tom Tom for traffic updates etc, the so ... |

Have you tried using the Backup/Restore facility on the supplied CD?
i.e. Backup the old card then insert the new card into Tom Tom then restore.

The settings we are referring to are settings that you need to set up in the Tom Tom, there may be a easier way but from memory!

Exactly the same problem I had with a K700i.
The only way to solve the problem was to pair the phone with the Tom Tom manually.
