| You can back it up by copying everything under "\My Flash Disk" to your PC. Everything in the other folders gets restored after a hard reset (from the so called ROM). |

it just says "Charging"
You are right, the Navman preferences screen says "charging". Sorry, it is 50% if you check the battery level with some other tools.

In these forums we seemed to establish that, if the main power is in the ON position (even if the unit is off) the battery doesn't actually INCREASE its current charge even if the unit is plugged in ... |

and turned the power switch off and on - none of this helped.
If you mean the small switch marked -o which turns the battery on/off then you have already done a "hard reset". There is no a "harder ... |

| gwes.exe and many other files in the \Windows folder of the device are "in ROM" files. You can't normally copy them on your PC. |

My iCN 530 also used to crash when I used Integral 512 MB 66x SD card.
Now I use Kingston 256MB 40x SD card and it is OK. |
