Tomtom have just got back to me with a new activation code which is working fine - I expected to have to wait for my 180 days to elapse but very plesaed to get such a quick response.

I finally settled on a Globalsat BT-338 and Tomtom5 (legal version)

I've installed TT5 and the 5.1 update but of course it would be too easy just to work...the X50V pairs ok with the BT GPS receive ...
