I had this problem and eventually fixed it by upgrading the ROM to the latest version using the image available from the HP website. It apparently only makes a difference to TTN5.

Sad story indeed. However I cannot understand how they can claim that this has to do with hardware. TTN5 works perfectly on the iPAQ 3630 with any cable GPS receiver.

Certainly a lot of closed petrol stations in mid Bedfordshire have correctly disappeared in Navigator 3.
