| The improved traffic lights have a very long pedestrian phase, so there are huge tail backs and motorists take the side roads to get around them. Even if it only saves a few seconds. |

| TfL 'improved' a traffic light junction bout 400 yds from me a few years back. Now at rush-hour times a I get a stream of cars cutting through my rather narrow road at high speed. |
