Go for bluetooth, you can easilly use it in another car if need be. |

That's correct Dave, apologies I wasn't very clear about that, HP are investigating dropouts using SD & Bluetooth, I have dropout problems whilst using a Motorola V600, V80 and various nokia phone ... |

Put it this way, I have been away for two and a half weeks in France driving every day, on 5 of those days virtually all day and have not had a single drop out.

You can, yes, as for speciffice location in Italy I honestly don't know but in the France map there are train stations, ferry ports, all sorts including Winery's!

There are no major problems with the SanDisk cards, however, the Ultra II ones are the best.
There is a problem with the HP2210 SD driver which for some reason doesn't work well with many SD cards. ... |

I agree, POI Place is very good, you need to register fisrt but this takes secconds. Loads of POI including supermarkets and everything. Ideal for France. |

TomTom have to be paid and £40 - £60 is pretty fair, they may fix some bugs etc, but you will get extra features and functionality.
You would pay to upgrade your operating system I bet! |

Yeah, go for the 2210, make sure that you have the latest firm ware revision though v1.10 (07).
Get yourself a decent CF card too. |
