Post Coded databases

Can anyone tell me what the post databases do ??? I was hoping that they'd allow me to search for an address by post code but this doesnt seem to be the case.. or is it ?? If so how do i do it using tomtome 3??

These are an older set of postcode POI files, which when transferred to TTN3, you can then navigate to a POI, point to the relevant codebase POI file, and then enter a postcode.
