GPS Reciever Seems To Reset! Help!

Hey, I have a Dconnix (or something like that) receiver with my ipaq navigation system. After I have been using the GPS for a long time, when I turn it off then on again, it doesnt seem to rememebr the satallites it was last connected to. It take around 2-5 minutes to find any signals. Is there some setting that I might have chosed for it to do a reset every time I turn it off? Thanks a lot for your help!

BTW, when i restart the reciever and look at the gps stauts, it says 0/12 satalites it sees. And in the diagram of where all of the Sats. are located, it shows 12 of them in a straight line. My brother has the same reciever, and when he turns it on again, it shows the Sats. it had before. Maybe there is software or something so I can have more advanced options? thanks again,

If switching the Dconnex off and then switching it on and it immediately takes 5 mins to regain sats then this is not normal. It should initiate a hot fix which should be around 5-10 seconds. If the Dconnex is off for a few hours, or has changed location then it may take longer and could take usually up to about 1 min, but depending on view of sky and position change since last power on, it may take longer.
