Garmin Nuvi Registration

I have bought the nuvi 2548,but am thinking of changing it for the 3598,very soon,as in my earlier post
On the nuvi 2548 I have updated the maps to the latest ones,but am not sure I have registered it by doing this.if I go to MY GARMIN and input either of my 2 email address's and click forgot password it comes back saying NO RECORDS FOUND FOR THIS ADDRESS,does this mean the 2548 nuvi is not registered,as i am taking it back to the shop where I bought it to exchange it for a 3598,and feel this question about registration may arise,I could say No anyway but am to honest
Any help would be very grateful on this matter

If you're not sure then create a new gmail or hotmail account just for registering the Garmin as a new user.
