I have a 750 Live
with
Application : 9.510.1234792.1
Map : Europe v915.5074
operating in English
I have computer voices installed
Kate -- active

Bernard - French - not active
Juliette - French - not active
Katrin - German - not active
Stefan - German -not active

Since doing my last up date I have not been able to receive Text messages from my mobile phone -- either in written form or in spoken form.

Nothing has changed with the phone

I have checked all the settings on the TT750L and still don't work -- perhaps I have missed something - but I have been over and over.

Has anything been done with in the software Application to stop the texts getting through.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Maurice

Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds

Just had a reply with a step by step go through for sorting the problem.

First copy map to computer from device
Then delete Software application from device
Then remove application from computer.
Then Update My Go.
This will download the latest software application. [as previous v9.510.123]
Repeat till you are sure you have all the updates.
Delete your phone from device.
Re join your phone again and pair the two together.
Download phone book--

Get some one to send a text

Did it work -- NO
Now have the Read In-box messages icon -- greyed out!!

Just sent message to "support" with this..
Hope they can sort it.

Keep us informed... I seem to remember I lost that feature too. But soon after that, I changed my phone, and the poor TT couldn't cope with texts from that one AT ALL so the original issue became a bit of a non-problem!

I assumed it was TomTom's usual way of fixing problems... i.e. just remove the feature completely. Evil or Very Mad

Just sat at the table playing ---
Marys phone -- sending text messages to my phone -- tom-tom 750L with my phone connected to my tom-tom 750L
The 750L did not work

Connected Marys phone to the 750L and I text -- the 750L worked perfect -- speech etc.
Connected my phone to the 740L and sent text -- no response!
My phone to 750L -- no response

Marys phone to 740L -- worked OK
My phone to 740L -- did not work..

Conclusion -- at this stage it is MY phone not sending the messages!!!
we both have the same phone Sony Ericsson W595 both work OK apart from this!!

Trouble is there arnt many phones on the TT compatibility site that do all functions..

We would get newer phones -- if we could !!

I will get back to the tom-tom girls and ask their advice..

any ideas..

Do both of your W595's have different names? i.e. "Mary w595" and "Fibre w595“ or are they both the generic "Sony W595"?

Two identical phones - two seperate names..

Marys Phone
&
Maurice's Phone

Normally starts by saying
"Connecting to telephone"
then
"Connected to Maurice's [or Marys] phone"

It still does that for both phones on the 750L
but only when connected to Marys Phone -- will it receive and speak texts.
If connected to Maurice's phone -- all other bits work - but the text facility is greyed out -don't receive text at all.

the Phone -- or the 750L --
I am more convinced now that it is the phone -- as the 750L works OK when on Marys phone.

I will have to get my son to sort out my [Maurice] phone -- so I don't lose things etc.

The kids are much better than us at these things -- we hope thats is what it is any way.

We hopefully think we may have solved the problem.
Not the fault of the 750L but the Sony Ericsson W959 phone.

I first copied -via USB - all the files and data from the phone to my desk top.
Then we [my son] took the phone back down to manufacturers settings.
Then we renamed the phone - Maurice's Phone
Then rejoined it with the 750L via blue tooth.
We sent a text to the phone whilst it was connected to the 750L and
-- after a few seconds the blue face appeared in the top left hand corner Shocked
-- and it read out the text. Laughing
Then we spent time transferring the data -- pics etc back from the desk top to the phone. Confused
All successful -- we have tried it out several times today - just to check. Surprised
We did forget to recouple it with the 740L Embarassed but that only took seconds -- and it worked fine.

So what with the Tom-Tom support site and people on this site
-- I think we have done well -- and ALL learnt something !!

Thanks

Maurice
