|
|
Hi guys
Could some kind soul point me in the right direction. I am selling an old ONE IQ routes and need to take my favourites and my own customer base POIs from this unit and install onto a new START 20 unit. I also would like to remove these details permanently from the old ONE unit as I hope to sell it in the near future.
Many thanks for any info / instructions you can provide. |

Use the Content Transfer Assistant to transfer custom pois and other stuff from the old to the new unit. Get it here:
http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14081/?locale=en_GB
You will want to Restore to Factory Defaults on the old unit after doing the transfer and, as well, use Explorer to delete the custom poi files from the old unit. _________________ David |

Hi
Thanks for reply. The transfer assistant doesn't seem to support my new start 20 device according to the list.
I seem to remember there was a way of manually doing it thru windows explorer I'm just not sure which files I need to extract from the old device and where to put them on the new start 20 Western Europe.
Many thanks. |

The Start 20 uses MyTomTom so just try selecting a different model and see if it works.
You can also use the Add Community Content link on the desktop's MyTomTom icon when you connect your unit to add custom poi files already on your computer. _________________ David |

I'm 99% sure it WILL work.
I don't have a Start20, but I DO have a Start60 and that's not on their published list either.
I just hooked it up to the Content Transfer Assistant along with my old Go950 and it copied everything across fine.
There's no need to select anything, just switch on the "source" TomTom and the prog will copy everything temporarily to the PC. Then switch it off and switch on the Start and it will put everything onto it.

As dhn says, you need to use MyTomTom, not Explorer, if you want to to do a manual copy of any other stuff. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
