Turn off screen

I am now using my iPad to navigate instead of my GO530 but I will continue to need its hands free bluetooth facility.

How do I turn off the screen on my GO 530 ? I have tried the option in Safety Preferences to 'Turn off map display always' but it still stays on !

What are you seeing on-screen?

That option works fine for me on all my NAV2 TomToms (they've removed it on the new NAV3 models)

But it doesn't turn the screen off completely, it just replaces the moving map with a more static blue screen display with direction arrows. The status bar stays the same.

I get the splash screen then the home/start screen and it stays like that waiting for input. When I am driving or it's navigating I still get the moving map.

Not to worry though, I'll install Tripmaster and have a visual speed display instead
