BuyGPSNow in the States is very good!

I just received one of the first Royaltek BlueGPS RBT-1000 units shipping in the states today. I am traveling to the UK and France next week and my Fortuna Clip-On was becoming unreliable and BuyGPSNow really came through for me including calling me with updates and asking when I exactly needed it. Thumbs Up

May I ask whether you had to pay duty and VAT before delivery?

Talkingbollox: The last couple of things I have ordered from the states, the damn post office hit me with duty (cheap), VAT (hurts) and then a £13 "Post office fee". They could not explain to me what the post office fee was for. Something to do with the pleasure of using their VAT account ?? All postage was paid at the other end. If you are ordering from the states, ask them to send Federal Express International Economy as this is reasonable and they don't seem to charge stupid fees upon receipt.

Skippy, were they fairly big packages? I assume that the green customs sticker had a value > £18? That's probably why you were charged duty and VAT.

The "post office" fee is their admin fee for being the tax collector and passing your hard earned cash to the Exchquer.

I ask because I once bought a cable set from the US worth $55 which came in a fairly small package and didn't have to pay any surcharges.

Cheers
