City Navigator on more than 1 PC?

Hi - is it possible to install City Navigator on more than one PC without downloading the 3 gig again? If so how?

I found a 2009 post on another forum which indicated you could simply copy the maps directory across and update the %device% and %software% registry keys, but that doesn't seem to work.

If you find and run a copy of the installer against a copy of the maps directory it wants to find a file called Disk1.cab - which is a file on the original DVD but which has to be up to date and consistent with the C/N version you're trying to install. Disk1.cab isn't on the original installed PC that I can find, neither is it available off the Garmin website, surprise.

Called Garmin support but they weren't really interested - said use Basecamp on 2 PCs and it will read the maps on the device. But that means you have to have the device available.

PS last download of C/N 2013.20 took all night, literally...

Thoughts anyone?

The tools at http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html allow you to easily do that, worked a breeze when I transferred maps from my Win XP desktop to my Win 7 laptop
