This issue is starting to drive me nuts,
Not sure if its just me so will ask here..
Started about 4 weeks ago, before that updated as normal, maps every 3 months, speed cameras every week.
Since the last firmware upgrade, I now get a pop up box on the PC every day around 3pm, advising an update is available, and its Speed Cameras Every Single Day!!
Annoyingly you can no longer download the update without connecting the device to get rid of the prompt, so every day its plud in the TT1000 and update, (With all the normal fails and resets). Just to get a speed camera update,
Why are they doing these daily over the PC now this is crazy, and I keep thinking its the 895 map update dropping in.
Device is a TomTom 1000, Euro Edition,
Firmware 10.839.922458.530 (0) (1217, 10/04/2012), OS638956
Current Map - v890.4221
Anyone else with a 1000 having this problem or is it related to the 10.839 B&M Specific Firmware.?.

The daily updates are there for those of up who appreciate daily mapshare changes - hence the daily updates, which can include Speed Cameras
If you don't want mapshare you can switch it off, or simply don't wish to benefit from daily changes of any type, you can go in to the settings of MyTomTom and switch it to check daily, weekly, monthly or just every time you restart your computer - your choice
So quite flexible, hope this helps _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

The logical solution is to stop MyTomTom running when your PC starts up. So many PC applications assume that you want to run their program every time you switch on the PC. No - I want to run it when I choose, not when you tell me to. Such programs use valuable resources, and slow down the PC if they are constantly running.
You may find MyTomtom in your All Programs ... Startup folder on the start menu - in which case, just delete the reference in this folder.
If not, you should try downloading a program such as CCleaner which allows you to choose your startup programs. However, a word of warning - only disable a startup program if you understand what it is. You don't want to disable a vital Windows process! _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D
