Hi Guys,

I have just changed to a Live 1000 device and whilst it will connect to my Nokia C3 for handsfree calls it won't download the phonebook/contacts-my Go940 Live would but only using 8.371 firmware (it wouldn't after 9.058).

Does anyone know of a way of getting the contacts list onto the 1000? or even adding a few important contacts manually?

Nope... Useless isn't it.

On a NAV2 model you could edit the contacts list yourself, it was just a simple text file.

It probably still is, there's just no way to get at it.

All I can think of.. totally convoluted (and we shouldn't have to mess about like this)... is maybe you could export your contacts to another, more compatible phone, pair that with the TomTom and then re-pair the C3 and say no to any "shall I overwrite the phone book" questions it might throw at you.

No idea if that would work, just thinking off the top of my head.

Thanks for the suggestion Andy, I will give it a try with just a couple of numbers and see if they get wiped over when I reconnect the C3.

I have tried connecting the unit to a more compatible phone and it downloaded the phonebook satisfactorily. Unfortunately as soon as I reconnect it to my C3 it overwrites the phonebook with the one from the C3 (which it cant download) resulting in me again not having any contacts available. It doesn't give the option to refuse the download of the phonebook.................don't you just love Tomtom Confused
