Hi there!
I bought a Pocket PC – MyGuide Navigator 6500XL – PDA from Lidl's 4 or 5 years ago (there was muchado in the Forum at that time) and I fell in love with it, but, from the beginning there was a poor connection twixt the charging lead plug and the input socket in the instrument. Finally 18 mths ago I found I could no longer charge the battery.
For the past year I have tried to get Lidl's Customer Services to tell me who makes or who they use to service these instruments, but they have failed to answer my pleas. My most recent letter follows:-

Dear Linda,
Re: Pocket PC – MyGuide Navigator 6500XL – PDA
Thank you for your letter of 16 November. Apologies are not required … I thank you for the trouble you have gone to, and the phone calls you made. During each of those calls…I made it clear that:
I was well aware that the warranty had run out and I wanted only to be put in touch with the people who made or could repair the PDA (Personal Digital Assistant); that I was prepared to pay for its repair; and that the problem was a manufacturing fault, namely, that the recharging socket was not fixed to the casing and its connection to the circuit board was by way of “dry joint” soldering.
This meant, that from the beginning, I had to jiggle the PDA on its base until the joint made contact and charging lamp came on. Sometimes, it would disconnect so no charge. More jiggling, etc, etc. This went on for some years. Finally, it became unchargeable! Despite this problem, I came to love my PDA. Also, it contains unreachable personal information…
Recently, I took it to professional Electronics’ Engineers who showed me the fully-floating socket, the 8 or 10 dry-jointed pins moving over the circuit board, and pointed out that two of the pins had fatigued to breaking point. They said that, only a new socket and proper soldering would cure the problem. They said that ‘the manufacturer was morally responsible, that it should go back to them for a successful repair’.
I ask again, can you send it to the manufacturer or your repairers for me? Or
Can you send me the manufacturer’s name, address and contact details so I can talk to them myself? Please help!
Feel free to pass this letter/details to anyone it may concern. For ease of contact please telephone (or email) me. Looking forward to your speedy response…
Yours sincerely,
Tony Sommerard. F.Z.S. F.I.M.I

Hello Forum, I sent you this message but it was rejected. How can I speak to you?
Thanks for your email saying that I'd got a reply. I input the 1st address below, a Forum page came up, but it said:
" Information
The topic or post you requested does not exist "
I'm not at all computer literate. I don't know if its my ignorance of the way the Forum works, but I can't find any answer to my question. Can you please help direct me to it or send me a copy by email?

Hi....
A few things - Firstly, I've edited out your email address and Office phone number from your first post as it's not a good idea to have those in plain view.
Secondly, it's Christmas and many regulars won't be following the forums as avidly as usual, so maybe don't expect too many replies quite so quickly.
Thirdly, I can't quite work out why you got error messages saying your post had been rejected didn't exist... as you can see it's here and visible to all.
For your original question, the best I can do is to point you to a couple of web addresses for MyGuide.
