GO LIVE 825 Map to face direction of travel

Good morning.

There are a couple of things that I think that I ought to be able to do with my new TomTom, but, despite, trawling through the menus, I can't see how to do them.

How do I get the map to face the direction of travel? It is stuck on "north up".

I am sure that my old TomTom did that (in fact, I know it did, because I can remember the view of a particularly complicated local roundabout).

I don't if it's called the same on the 825, but do you have an option to change from 2D to 3D, in Change Preferences? It might be called Map View.

On mine the 3D view is always travel direction up. 2D can be set to both.

"Direction up" on the 2D view is one of the features that quietly gets left off some of the cheaper TomTom models.
The problem is that TomTom never let you know which features are missing on a particular model, so you have to discover it for yourself once you've bought it! Evil or Very Mad

But having said that, the best "features comparison chart" I know of (managed by a moderator on another forum) reckons that the Go825 SHOULD have "Direction up" as an option on the 2D view.

So please let us know if you find it or not, so we can correct the chart if necessary.

On my Go1000 the option is in Main menu / Settings / 2D/3D settings - and it's worded like this:

In 2D view: rotate map in direction of travel {tick}
