Hi, first off I have had a DNX7240BT for the last two years and have been using the ASH Camera utility to download and create GPX files for importing into POILoader.

This has worked perfectly until the HU decided to die on me.

I now have a nice sparkly DNX 9280 BT and although the same poi.gpi files are loaded into the system as POI, I have the following issues.

When I come close to a POI, the icon no longer shows but if I was to stop, and zoom in then the icon is there, so the images are loading, just not displaying at the normal driving auto zoom.

The warning sound is shortened, ie it would normally have said "warning, traffic camera ahead" now, it says "ng, traffic camera ahead" it loses the first part of the audio file for all alerts.

The icons for the 7240 were all 22x22, I have tried every size upto 30x30 in case it needed a slightly larger image, but its still the same.

I have spoken to Kenwood Tech department, and they was not aware of the problem, but so far have been unable to suggest a way that it can work.

Any ideas?

regards

Well I can get the icons to display now, but still the first part of the audio is truncated.

Kenwood are still thinking about it, Garmin say its not their problem and that I should talk to Kenwood

Are you using WAV or MP3 files for the spoken alerts? Do you have the latest version of POILoader?

I can't quite see how it is Kenwoods issue when Garmin provide the software both for teh unit itself and for transferring POIs!!

Hi, I was using a slightly older version of poiloader along with ASH Camera Manager.

It seems it was the camera manager that was stopping the icons from displaying, but the audio was the same. I then went and installed the newest Poiloader and the results were the same.

If I download the garmin CSV files from here, use the same icons as normal, and WAV's then they display correctly, but still misses off the beginning of each warning.

As for Garmin, I said exactly the same thing to them, Ill c&p below.

But surely this is a software issue as the application and mapping data
is
from Garmin not kenwood?

Dear Mark Mifsud,

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.

I would be happy to help you., and am sorry for any frustration that
this situation may have caused you.

Unfortunately, we only design the GPS software for Kenwood devices. The
problem that you are describing is something that Kenwood themselves
will need to resolve for you.

The best way to contact Kenwood, is through their direct number. You can
