What does POI Loader delete?

I used Garmin's POI Loader to delete a previous custom POI file and noticed that it completely emptied the POI folder on my Nuvi 205W. I think there were some other files in the folder, as came with the unit as new. What were those original files, were they important?

They were more than likely the demo/trial versions of their own speed camera database.

It turns out this change was introduced in POI Loader V2.6.0 (without anyone noticing...).

Prior to V2.6.0, it just used to write a zero byte poi.gpi file, but now it actually does what it's always said it was going to do - and deletes all the .GPI files in the directory

(Given that Garmin use a FAT/FAT32 file system and there's not normally a lot of write activity occurring, you might be able to recover accidentally deleted .GPI files with a generic 'Undelete' utility...)
