TT Email to update my map

I got an email from TT on the 9th of this month saying there is a new map out and i should update my device. I already have the v875 installed and when i click on update my device it tells me my device is up to date. Is there a new map out or could this be a mistake by Tomtom......

I also received an email weeks after updating my map - always do.

I think it's an automatically generated email timed to go out after the servers have cooled down from the flurry of the new release downloads.

I see. Do you think that email would have been for the v875 map then. There is not a v880 due out just now then.....

Yes, it would have been for the v875 map.

There are usually four map releases a year, with the next one due in November.

I usually get such an email about a month after I have updated the map. I've always assumed it was for users who don't connect very often.
