Hi,
I've had a TomTom Go 300 since they first came out.
The thing I use most on this is navigating by entering GPS co-ordinates.
I have a TomTom Start 2 and this doesn't allow me to navigate by GPS co-ordinates (thanks tomTom nothing like technology going backwards).

However I went to the Formule 1 website to book some hotels for France and on their detail screen there's a TomTom link and using TomTom Home I can download the GPS co-ordinates as 'Favourites'.

I can't seem to work out how they do this whether it's some kind of file that is transferred but I wondered if I could create my own favourites the same way, if only I knew what the format was.

Has anyone ever tried this and successfully managed to do it?

Thanks
Matello

I would suggest that there are three possible ways of doing this (probably more) depending upon which you are most comfortable with:-

1) Using the on-line Tyre program. Load up TYRE, chart your hotels and export the file in a tomtom .ov2 format

2) Create a new POI category on your TT (I.e. F1 Hotels), switch to map view on the TT, plot the location of the hotels on the map and save them into the newly created POI category.

3) Create a .csv file on your PC using "notebook". Using a downloadable/online GPS converter such as "GpsVisulizer" convert this file from .csv to .ov2 format.

EDIT
1a) The program PoiEdit should be able to do this also.

Thanks AliOnHols.
I'm now using Tyre and creating everything under a MyGPS category. Thumbs Up

A big help. Thank you!
