|
|
At the risk of being a total muppet I have just bought a TomTom XL Live IQ Routes device direct from TomTom. My previous devices (a 510 and a 930) all played nicely with the database and whatever POIs I put on there.
This time I downloaded the database in OV2 as usual, unzipped it into the Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB, garnished with my standard POI download and when I try to enable warnings to the cameras none of them are showing up.
I've checked the files are all in place on the device but am not having any luck actually getting them to work on the device or Home Screen. I've done a reboot of the device (all the files are still resolutely there) but no joy in getting them to show on the TomTom.
Am I missing anything massively basic?
Device Details:
TomTom ONE XL LIVE IQ Routes Edition
Map: 'Europe_West' v870.3406
Many thanks! |

Might be a silly question, but how many ov2 Files are there in the Folder? _________________ Richard

Thanks for the reply Richard; sorted by file type it's a total of 154 OV2 files. I tried it with the speedcams only (deleted the commercial POIs leaving 31 OV2s) and they still didn't show.
Any help would be very gratefully received! |

Are there any POIs listed, when you go to Warn When Near? The built-in, and well as those you've added.
The other stab in the dark is that there might be 2 Maps in memory, and the Software is looking at the wrong Map.
Try to Switch Map to see if that's the case.

Thanks Richard.

The standard POIs all appear (Airport, Amusement Park, Beach etc.) but none of the ones that are sitting in the Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB folder.

You are Sir, a Genius!
When the entirely lovely folk at TomTom very kindly allowed me to download a small bit of the map I had bought (only part of it actually fitted on the device), it set up a previously unnoticed bijou little folder called Europe_West. I have now put the downloads in there and they have appeared on the screen. For some reason the standard POIs all seem to be happily living in the other location - where they most likely won't feel sullied by the information I actually want to use...
Huge thanks for the steer! |

The standard POIs will be living in both locations (in a file called poi.dat). _________________ Paul |
