Not seen this topic before.

Wondered what members do after each map download.

TT downloads the maps in Vista(in my case) to my -documents/tomtom/home/download/complete/map folder after each new map download!!

I move these to a folder in another free partition on my disk as my C drive is full enough.

This is extra space taken up on top of the tomtom home back up and my own windows explorer back up!

You would think tomtom would have better better disk management without the need for intervention by ourselves.

I wonder whether these downloads and whatever else can be deleted altogether. Question

there must be about 14 gig Bytes or so spread over my computer!

No need to do that... you can tell Home where you want to store things in it's preferences.
go to Tools/ Home Preferences / Folders tab and you can set your preferred locations for downloads, backups, items copied to the computer, and shared items.

I think the above options suggest they do! Very Happy

As for what *I* do.... I keep all my backups on a portable 250GB hard drive (I've got a LOT of units, which need regular backing up!) and I periodically clear out the Home downloads folders and burn the maps to DVD-R disks.

Oh I missed that option in home prefs. Thanks.
