|
|
Ok, long post i read online at autocar or something like that about the Garmin 1695 sat nav being the one they would choose if money no object, the TT Via 120 won overall due to it being cheaper.
My question is whats the difference between a 1695 and a 3790T? does one do something better that the other doesnt etc?
Were going on holiday in Oct to spain and are driving upto Valencia then onto Barca so i need a decent EU sat nav,
My choices are
Garmin of some sort
TT start 25
TT on Iphone
Other TT?
Navigon?
The live services dont really bother me but if they came with a year free etc then thats not too bad etc
Does a Iphone 4 do bluetooth calling thru the Garmin units?
Really am stuck on which one to go for, nice big screen would be nice etc
Hope someone can shed some light

A big screen would rule out the 37xx series, although they do have a higher resolution screen than most.
I can't comment on the Garmin 16xx series, but I have a 1490 (5" screen) that I've used extensively in Spain and France and it's performed flawlessly since I bought it.
It also has the advantage over the 37xx and 16xx series that not only can you plan routes on the GPS but you can also do so on PC and export them to the 1490 (or any other 14xx series). |

To be honest I would go with the TomTom iPhone software, with the money saved you can purchase an in car holder that also powers the iPhone and get something like an iO-Play or Parrot fitted to the car so you get all the audio and phone calls through the car speakers - Mike |

Moved to the "Beginners lounge, as that's where most posts from people looking for "cross-brand" advice go... (means you don't get a preponderance of posts from one faction!) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
